Just rechecked my recollection that New Haven, home of Yale, continues to have an extremely high violence rate. That is relevant. Years ago at 19 (I am now 78) I had a similar encounter with the police, but in California. Not only did I face a gun, but a night in jail. All charges were dropped, but I understand that Blow’s innocent son was likely very stressed as I sure was. Clearly a memorable and unpleasant experience. He is indeed Black and I am indeed White, for whatever that is worth. This only to say that this is not strictly a racial issue. I am sure others could relate stories similar to mine in a more contemporary time frame. Never have thought I was unique in any way. Am very pleased that Mr. Blow’s son is ok. I wish him well in his pursuit of a degree.
