The trauma of racism lives in our blood. What a powerful statement that is linked to testing stress in lab mice in a study. A real life example is evident witnessed daily in medical centers in this country. The results represented as health care disparities illustrated in the disproportionate number of Black patients suffering from hypertension compared to others racial groups. Lifestyle is often the reason given without full disclosure to the web of systems created as barriers for people of color. The trauma of racism lives in our blood for sure.
