The Urban Mental Health Alliance and the African American Cultural Collaborative of Mercer County, with a grant from I Am Trenton, are pleased to co-host Mercer County’s first ever Youth Arts Expo, for Mental Health Awareness Month. The expo will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 5, at the Trenton Free Public Library.

Entitled 1-800-WHO-CAN-RELATE (based on the popular song 1-800-273-8255 by artistic performer LOGIC) the Youth Arts Expo is designed to give an artistic voice on mental health to the youth of Trenton and surrounding Mercer County communities. Registered youth will have the opportunity to showcase their art and share their stories in the categories of drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, poem/spoken word, song or musical piece. Youth ages 13 – 21 are invited to register for participation by Friday, April 20, by filing out the online Youth Arts Expo Registration Form. To learn more, visit, www.urbanmentalhealthalliance.org or call 609-610-7603.

We are excited to announce LEW NATI as our 1-800-WHO-CAN-RELATE Speaker. Nati, an up and coming artist from Trenton, NJ, specializes in teaching youth awareness and self-advocacy for healthy emotions, feelings and empathy. Our youth won’t want to miss this powerful young man.
