The Princeton Family YMCA will be collecting canned goods leading up to the Arts Council of Princeton and Paul Robeson House’s Martin Luther King, JR Day event. Drop off your donations in the YMCA lobby during regular business hours through the 21st.

What: Authors’ Talk & Book Signing. Elaine Buck & Beverly Mills authors of If These Stones Could Talk will give an overview about the African American Presence in the Hopewell Valley, Sourland Mountain, and Surrounding Regions of New Jersey.

What: Princeton Clergy Association’s annual Multifaith ServiceHalf of the free will offering received will go toward the work of the Coalition for Peace Action (CFPA). Professor Ruha Benjamin will speak.

West Windsor

Where: West Windsor Arts Center, 952 Alexander Road, Princeton Junction, NJ 08550
What: MLK Day of Service, a day of service projects in cooperation with the West Windsor Human Relations Council. There will be multiple projects to work on along with speakers, music, and plenty of inspiration to go around. Service partners include: Send Hunger Packing, West Windsor/Mercer Street Friends; Rise Community Services; Ryan’s Case for Smiles.

Hightstown

Where: First United Methodist Church of Hightstown, 187 Stockton St. Hightstown, NJ
What: La Convivencia is teaming up with the First United Methodist Church of Hightstown to host the 2nd annual “MLK Day of Service and A Community Dialogue”.  After the service, there will be community dialogue about “promoting justice, equality, and peace during these challenging times” facilitated by Pastor Arroyo and Bilal Sultan.
