8th Annual Sons & Daughters of the U.S. Middle Passage Conference

  We gather in a spirit of learning, reflection, and unity to honor community leaders and authors. Expand your knowledge, engage in meaningful conversations, and forge connections with others passionate about celebrating and learning about the lives of the millions of individuals enslaved in the United States and the colonial period.

At the conference on Friday, June 7, 2024, starting at 6:00 pm, there will be a special ceremony to recognize community members and book authors dedicated to the memory of enslaved Africans brought to the U.S. The following day, Saturday, June 8, at 8:00 am, there will be a series of talks from historians, genealogists, and researchers who will shed light on the lives of enslaved people and help us remember them through commemoration.
