On the Same Page: Explaining CRT

August 3 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

What exactly is critical race theory?

With all of the challenges we face today, it seems more urgent than ever that we as a nation nurture the growth of young people as informed civic leaders and participants. In order to do so, we have to find ways to communicate and understand one another across differences when we talk about systems of power, our collective histories, and specific identities.

Random House in partnership with UnTextbooked, a podcast for the future brought to you by teen changemakers, presents a virtual, cross-generational conversation featuring Victor Ray, a renowned scholar of critical race theory and author of On Critical Race Theory: Why It Matters and Why You Should Care, and  co-moderated by students Sydne Clarke and Victor Ye, this discussion aims to demystify the often-misconstrued framework that theorizes the ways in which racism is embedded in our social institutions.
