Fairleigh Dickinson University’s PublicMind finds that race is a determining factor in attitudes toward the police and other institutions, including prosecutors and the availability of competent legal assistance for New Jersey residents. Three quarters of whites (75%) trust police to treat everyone equally, with only 42 percent of black respondents who say the same.

Absolutely, after centuries of vilifying black people as criminals it would be crazy to think that after all this time someone was lying or distorting the picture for personal gain… Our society has been brainwashed to believe that skin color means different, one better and one worst. Until we realize that we are the same “human beings” the self-esteem necessary for this country to move forward will remain stagnated in outdated misbelieves about self and others.
