Brown President Emerita Simmons will give lecture

Brown University President Emerita Ruth Simmons will give the lecture “Confronting a Tainted Legacy: Slavery and Justice at Brown University,” at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, in McCormick Hall, Room 101. Simmons also is a Princeton University trustee. This lecture, co-sponsored by Wilson College and the Women’s Center, is part of a series of events that are being organized across the campus in order to encourage the Princeton community to think more broadly about issues of race and social justice in light of Princeton’s history.

North Carolina NAACP president will give lecture

The Rev. William Barber will give the lecture “America Now and the Need for a Third Reconstruction and Revolution of Moral Values,” at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, in the University Chapel. Barber is the president of the North Carolina NAACP and leader of the Moral Mondays movement.
