We are excited to announce that the application for Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) for 2023 is now available. The program has been a gateway for youth into the adult world of work and has provided numerous opportunities to youth in Princeton. In the summer of 2022, SYEP provided jobs to close to 30 students in municipal departments and local non-profit organizations, which included job readiness training, financial coaching and career development.

In order to be eligible for the program, participants must be between the ages of 14-18, must be residents of Princeton or attend a Princeton school, and their family income must not exceed 400% of the 2022 Federal Poverty level. Participants work 25 hours a week and earn minimum wage for 8 weeks during the summer. The employment period is from July 5 – August 25, 2023. The applicant must be able to participate for the entire program and must attend all mandatory events and activities.

An information session for interested participants and their parents will be held in-person on May 6th at 12pm and virtually on May 11th at 6pm. Parents and participants should contact Human Services for the invitations.

The application deadline is April 28, 2023. Applications must be submitted to the Human Services office at 1 Monument Drive, Princeton NJ 08540.
